Cellist Cindy Song has enjoyed a career as a soloist, as a chamber musician, as an adjudicator, and as a teacher for over 25 years. Song holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance, learning from teachers, Daniel Domb, Vladimir Orloff, and Walter Joachim, at the University of Toronto.
Song has been a frequent participant in summer music festivals, notably those of the Orford Arts Centre in Quebec and the Cleveland Music Institute, where she studied with Orlando Cole. Song has completed extensive Suzuki teacher training from the Ithaca and the Chicago Suzuki institute under the instruction of Barbara Wampner, Nancy Hair, and Carey Beth Hockett. She has served as a teacher at Peoples Academy and at Rock Community Christian School. She also teaches at her private studio.
Her students who actively perform around the GTA area have won many awards as both soloists and ensemble players. She has been a member of the Ontario Music Teacher’s Association and the Suzuki Association of America over 20 years.
